Lyla in the Loop

Comedy Sequence

The following is a sequence from "Lyla in the Loop", a 2D bridge show for PBS Kids. The scripts were very talkie so I had to emphasize character acting. The director also asked us to use lots of "cut-ins" instead of having several cameras to avoid having to create too many layouts.

Ep 118A: "Moon Rock Cove" (Sample)

Tent Sale

Comedy Sequence

This is a sit-com-style comedy sequence I boarded for Studio Smokescreen's animated short "Tent Sale". The short has been featured in Animation Magazine, and has been used to promote the studio's services.

Note: The character designs were updated after the boards were made.

CalHOPE Shorts

Drama Sequence

This is one of the shorts I boarded for CalHOPE Schools through Studio Smokescreen. They are geared towards middle school-aged kids and their families, and tackle subjects including managing stress and anxiety, and normalizing the importance of asking for help and support. More can be seen on their website.

Ep 1: Okay to Ask for Help

Remember Us

Drama Sequence

I had the privilege to work on Pablo León's award-nominated short "Remember US" as a Layout Artist. This short has won several awards, and was even pre-selected to compete at the Oscars.

Original storyboards by Ernesto Alonso.

The Apricot

Drama-Comedy Short

I had the chance to do character layouts for the very cute short "The Apricot." The work was similar to doing revisions on boards as I had to put characters on model and fix some perspective and proportion issues. Essentially, I had to prepare the boards for animation.

Monster High

Adventure-Comedy Sequence

I had the chance to make revisions on a few episodes of the first season of Monster High's Reboot through Studio Smokescreen. This is a CG show, so the drawings were mostly kept very rough.

NOTE: Naming conventions on scenes were left unchanged at the director's request.
